The Branding Process

Stage 1: We Listen

You, the client are our greatest asset in the branding process.

You are our best source of information, you know your business and market better than anybody. This is why we love to have a coffee and a chat to kick things off….to get to know you and your vision personally. Followed up with a comprehensive brand brief to nut out the details and target market.

Stage 2: Research

Understanding competitors and context is key.

We get googlin’ and thoroughly research your industry and competitors to get a holistic vision of where your branding and logo should stand and how we can not only differentiate you from your competitors, but stand ahead of them! We also consider your potential audience to make more informed design decisions to make sure your brand resonates and conveys the appropriate messaging.

Stage 3: Brain Dump

We drink way too much coffee and get cranking on ideas.

This is one of the funnest parts! We grab pen and paper and just start doodling, drawing, coming up with as many different ideas and directions as possible–there are no bad ideas! (Well sometimes there are, but we leave them on the scrap heap.) We draw and draw and revaluate and narrow it down to a handful of outstanding initial concepts. We then present these concepts to you.

Stage 4: Feedback & Development

We love to involve you in the process, that way you are a part of your brand.

Once you review our initial ideas, we have a chat and go through what worked and what didn’t and what direction you’d like to go in. Very rarely have we nailed it first go (but sometimes it does happen!) so we take your feedback and then narrow down the concept and develop it further until you are completely happy with the design.

Stage 5: Delivery & Context

Once you are 100% happy with the design, we deliver!

Once the design has been agreed upon, we go away and package everything you need up into a bunch of files that you can use. This includes digital and print file types, along with colour variations and mono-colours as well as reversed options. If required, we also create brand guidelines with examples of hoew your brand can be used so you have context. This also informs future designers how to use the brand correctly, this ensures that down the track your brand maintains integrity. Then we’re done and you have a shiny new brand 🙂
